APRIL SHOWERS: ITS RAINING INNOVATION OPPORTUNITY!



The Innovate-A-thon quarterly vote is underway! 

What is your choice for an immersive, three-week innovation sprint?


In the spring/early summer 2025, IAT sprint, 9-15 students will work in teams to create their own solutions a specific problem of society, environment, or economy.  IAT sprints have yielded amazing innovative solutions and have prepared dozens of students for an innovation workforce.


Cast your vote now for problem statements determined through a national nomination process, and join in the democratization of innovation!

  • Custom 3D-Printed Footwear – PLA material recycling for athletic & special needs footwear

  • Nuclear Waste Reuse – Repurposing nuclear materials for sustainability

  • Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling – Solutions to recover valuable materials & reduce waste

  • Urban Pedestrian Safety – Innovations for safer cities

  • Closed-Loop Agriculture – Circular systems for sustainable food production

  • Robotic Automation & AI Guardrails – Ethical & functional safeguards for AI-driven robotics

  • Fast Fashion & Sustainability – Addressing environmental challenges in the fashion industry

Our fall, 2024 vote identified advanced recycling and sustainability.  Read about the outcomes of that sprint here.  Other sponsored sprints include regenerative agriculture (in partnership with Bayer Crop Science), prosthetics for developing regions, among others.


Innovate-A-thon is a nonprofit focused on advancing an innovation mindset and solutions.  The IAT team makes opportunities available to students from over 850 universities to participate in three-week solution sprints determined by nationwide vote or specific sponsorship.  Through this amazing internship experience, every participating student receives a modest scholarship, an amazing innovation building experience, hone their team-optimization skills, and the opportunity to build their professional networks.
